Boiled shrimp with Fish Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 10 cups of water
  • 2 cups reduced sodium vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 3 medium fries
  • 2 medium carrots, thin slices
  • 12 ounces tilapia fillet, cut into one piece
  • Half a pound of peeled shrimp
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Half a medium onion, cubes
  • 2 celery sticks, thin slices
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley or 1 tablespoon of dried parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl of soup over high heat, add 10 cups of water, 2 cups of vegetable broth and 1 tablespoon of salt. Dice potatoes and add them to a bowl. Boil and continue cooking potatoes 10 minutes after boiling.
  2. Add carrot slices to the bowl and cook for another 10 minutes while preparing (step 3).
  3. In a large skillet, add 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium / high heat. Finely chopped onion, add to slices and celery, and saute until soft and golden (7 minutes). Toss this mixture into the bowl.
  4. Add peeled shrimp and minced fish to the pot. Also, toss in your 2 bay leaves, 1/8 teaspoon pepper, 2 tbsp fresh parsley. Boil back and cook for 5 minutes or until the fish and shrimp are completely tender. Salt is more to taste if desired and removed from the heat. Serve with a spoon of fresh parsley or dill.

Notes

* You can count on tilapia as it mixes well with shrimp.
** You can change the amount of salt or add your own spices for a different taste.
** You can use any other types of vegetables to add it to the boiled shrimp soup with fish.
