All I needed to use was taking the shrimp out of the freezer and the rest of the ingredients in my home locker.

How to make shrimp toast with garlic butter and lemon:

In a small skillet, sauteed leeks and garlic in a little olive oil with a little salt. Add butter, and when it melts, remove from heat and stir fresh ground pepper, fresh lemon juice and fresh parsley.

Place the peeled raw shrimp in a bowl and stir with chili, paprika, onion powder, salt and pepper. Fry it in a hot skillet in a mixture of olive oil and butter.

Note: Cooking shrimp is not easy and not difficult! Boiled shrimp strongly turns into a rubber material. Use a very hot frying pan for good cooking and stirring each side for just a minute. Once it becomes opaque it is finished! Make sure to remove it from the heat and the bowl.

Size of shrimp I should use:

Like our advice for most shrimp recipes here, pay attention to the number of shrimp per pound. I used a size of 26/30 per pound. I wouldn't recommend anything smaller. However, larger shrimp, like 16-20 would do better if you use this as an appetizer (the taste won't be affected in anything).

Can I use frozen shrimp:

 Yes. Fresh is always my favorite, but the vast majority do not have fresh shrimps and are not always available. Just be sure to completely remove the frost and dry it with a paper towel before roasting it for the best cooking.

I do not recommend using pre-cooked shrimp with this recipe. Preparing shrimp is important in the taste of this recipe and this is not possible with pre-cooking.

Toast either bread on a gas stove or under the grill. Peel a large clove of garlic and cut it in half. Rub the cloves over the toast.

Cut the bread however you like and add the shrimp. Generously sprinkle with garlic butter and lemon. Apply.

Garlic butter and lemon

  • A quarter cup of red onions or chopped sweet onions can be replaced.
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup butter 1 stick
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh minced parsley

Shrimps and spices

  • 24 ounces peeled and open shrimp, size 26-30 for every pound or greater
  • 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder, can use ancho or chipotle
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper, preferably smoked
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
  • 1 crunchy French bread


  1. Saute leeks, garlic, and salt in olive oil over medium heat in a small skillet for 2-3 minutes until they are tender and smell.
  2. Add the butter to a skillet and cook until the butter melts and begins to boil.
  3. Turn off the heat and stir pepper, lemon juice and parsley.
  4. Dry the shrimp and leave in a bowl. Sprinkle with seasoning and stir the mixture.
  5. Heat a large skillet or skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and butter. When foaming butter, add shrimp in one layer. Cook for 1 minute, then stir shrimp.
  6. Cook until shrimp becomes opaque and remove it directly from the pot and heat.
  7. The bread can be roasted over a top gas stove or under the grill and kept in a low temperature while the shrimp is fried.
  8. Rub the top of the toast with the garlic clove, if desired.
  9. Shake fried shrimps on toast and sprinkle generously with garlic butter and lemon. Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon, if desired.
